How to make a simple hat

What do you need:

- a piece of fabric, e.g. an old t-shirt,

- scissors,

- tailor's tape measure,

- tailor's pins,

- tailor's dressmaker chalk,

- matching color threads,

- Sewing Machine.



Use a fabric that stretches to sew the hat. An old t-shirt will be perfect for this. Don't throw away your old clothes, you can transform them into something new 😀👍

Cap dimensions. Measure the circumference of your head and subtract 1 cm. If you're folding the fabric in half like me, then divide the size by 2.

In my case, the head circumference is 53 cm. I calculate:

53cm - 1cm = 52cm, 52cm / 2 = 26cm

The height of the hat is 27cm. If you want to make a longer hat, more sloping at the back, give it 30-33 cm.
